LILL'S NEW ITEM

Here's photos of the item my mother-in-law invented. Put the cover on face down and it makes a soft cushion to hold your DVD Player, Computer or book. Use a thick yarn to get the right effect. Good job Lil.

MY MOTHER IN LAW, THE KNITTER

A few weeks ago my 84 year old mother in law told me that, inspired by my new web-site, she decided to try knitting again. The last time she knit was 43 years ago. As we were scheduled to visit over the holidays I told her I would be happy to help her. She went out and got some yarn and needles and started playing around. She called and told me she was having a lot of trouble, dropping stitches, adding stitches and in a nutshell, making a mess.
We got here today and I was shocked to see what she had done in a week. My father in law has a piece of wood that he puts under his lap top and she decided to make a cover for it. Without a pattern, she had started knitting and was almost done when I arrived. It's made of garter stitch and fits under the board to protect his legs. She crocheted a chain which she pulled through the piece, tied it off, and voila! She had invented a new item. I was very impressed and will post a photo soon.

HERE'S THE SNAKE

Here's that snake. Add a little red thread at one end to signify the mouth and leave enough thread at the other end to crochet a few stitches to add to the tail. click on the video button to see a free demonstration of the snake in progress.
Check in often to see what's been added to the web-site. There might be new patterns, new tips, new celebrity stories, new stitches.

I'M KNITTING A SNAKE

I've found a way to use up little amounts of leftover yarn. I've been knitting a snake! I think it'll be a fun gift for a new baby because it's bright and colorful. I'm using double pointed needles with 7 stitches on each of three. The next time I do
one I think I'll use less stitches. This is a fat snake. I'm filling it with poly fill as I go. As soon as I finish it I'll post a photo.

TEA COZY

Recently I got a call from a T.V. Show asking for a knitted tea cozy. I had never made one, but of course said yes. They said they wanted it to look a little unusual and it needed to be royal blue and off white. They needed it so fast, and I made it up as I went along, so I never wrote down the pattern. I used a mixture of Softball Cotton and Eyelash. I don't think it would actually keep the tea warm, but it was only for T.V. so it didn't matter.
