I get a lot of e-mails telling me that the edges are rolling on a scarf. You can pick up the edges and do a few rows of garter stitch to rectify that. And, you will need to do this technique when making a gusset. You might want to pick up stitches to add a sleeve instead of sewing it in later. I could go on and on.
